Dear Visitor,
Safecity's Self defence Network is the result of
careful planning and research. Over the past 6 years, we have gathered valuable
data from thousands of student graduates, many of them police officers and
senior law enforcement professionals. This data has enabled us to identify
important issues relating to the subject of workplace safety for law enforcement
officers.
During our research, we began noticing evidence of yet another aspect of violence: I am referring to the rapid increase of work and domestic related aggression. This problem is escalating and causing human suffering and financial loss due to lawsuits, absenteeism and low morale in the workplace.
There is also disturbing evidence that a large
majority of the victims of aggression do not report it to police, or, in case of
workplace related assaults, to WorkCover or WorkSafe.

According
to police, the vast majority of assaults turning up in hospital
emergency rooms were not reported.
